"On another note, Barley Vine, Dan helped me out last week figuring out how much DME to add to my beer because it was not fermenting, I let it sit and ferment and last night did another gravity reading, clocking in at 14.5% ABV. Kind of shocking since the yeast peaks at 10%, but it does have 3 times the yeast cells it should." - Jared B

"Can I give this place more than 5 stars?? I would if I could. Seriously, I LOVE this store. I started making wine about a year and a half ago. When I decided to make my first batch of beer, Dan told me exactly what I needed, and even gave me a recipe to go by. It turned out terrific. It also gave me the confidence to try bigger and better things. When it comes to wine making, I'm kind of a mad scientist. My motto is "anything but grapes." It doesn't matter how crazy my ideas are, Barley and Vine has everything, including ideas, to make it happen. I can't think of a better place to shop, or get ideas and help. "Stopped in for a free class on wine/cider making. Found it incredibly informative and helpful. The owners obviously care a lot about beer and wine culture. Beyond that, the supplies are all there and decently priced. I'll be back again to get more info in the near future." - Adam

"This place rocks! They are very well stocked and have absolutely everything you need to start up or continue your homebrewing hobby/addiction. The owners are so pleasant to talk to and I spent way more time in conversation than I did actually shopping. Apparently they also do brewing classes on the weekends, and I would love to attend one sometime just to see what else I can learn. They are a bit hidden from the road, but they have convenient store hours and once you find them you'll have a hard time leaving! In addition to a complete stock of raw ingredients and commercial products, they also put together their own kits which closely clone the recipes of well-known craft brews. I'm so glad I don't have to drive across town or pay shippng for supplies anymore, and I always love the chance to support local businesses. I can't wait to try out my first kit from them." -Dewitt
